Changes due to COVID-19: We have reduced our class size, and are only offering nursery school in the afternoons this year.

Our nursery program offers a warm, comfortable environment that is full of interesting toys and activities. The children are supervised by experienced staff who all hold certification from  Manitoba Early Learning and Child Care.

Our French Enrichment Nursery School program is part of the school age centre, and offers three and four year old children the opportunity to be exposed to some french before entering kindergarten. We teach English, French and American Sign Language letters and numbers. We plan developmentally appropriate activities based on interests of the children, with a focus on pre-kindergarten skill development taught in a play based setting. Our program provides children with a wide range of social activities, and an opportunity to interact with other children and adults. Children learn some of the words and phrases they will use later in French Immersion school, however your child is welcome to attend even if you do not plan to continue with French Immersion.

Nursery School operates from mid-September until mid-June. We are closed for two weeks during the school Christmas break, and for the week of Spring break. We also must close on Ecole Centrale inservice days, and Nursery classes may be shortened on Ecole Centrale early dismissal days.

Our program is designed for three and four year olds. All students must be at least three years of age and fully toilet trained prior to starting nursery class (children with additional support needs may be exempt from the independent toileting requirement).

Classes are available: Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Some children do enroll for all four days. Morning classes are 8:30-10:30, and afternoon classes are 12:30-2:30. There is no option for full day care in our nursery program. Morning classes are currently on hold due to cohort size restrictions.
